Public Advisory on Student Data and School Photography

Shoob Photography recognizes the importance of maintaining the privacy and security of student data used in school photography. Such data may include student ID, name, grade, and teacher. This data is used to produce ID cards, yearbook prints, and other materials for the school. It is never sold or otherwise used other than in the context of producing materials for the school and photos for the family.

Shoob Photography follows the federal requirements of FERPA (Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act of 1974) as well as the California requirements under California Education Code Sections 49060–49085 and the California Student Online Personal Information Act (SOPIPA), which prohibits the sale or use of student data for advertising purposes. Shoob Photography also follows the guidelines of COPPA (Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act)

Student images and data are stored on AWS infrastructure with end to end encryption at rest and in transit. Access is restricted to authorized personnel only. Student images are not used to train AI/Machine Learning programs. Student images are never used as samples without parent permission.

Parents may request deletion of their child’s data and images by contacting us at info@shoobphoto.com or (209) 567-0748. Parents must verify their identity and relationship to the student.

This Privacy Policy describes how Shoob Photography (“we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, and shares your personal information when you visit or make a purchase from ShoobPhoto.com (the “Site”) or use our photography services.
